Heritage Month is that time of the year where everyone in
South Africa is being reminded of their cultural background.
In South Africa the younger generation seem to not know
what the real purpose for Heritage celebration is. They are now lost and don’t
have a clear background on what is Heritage and how it is celebrated.

Students were given an opportunity to compete against each
other in a fun way, where every student was picking a tribe to represent.
“No one is allowed to choose their own tribe because there is no fun in that way and they won’t be gaining any knowledge on how other tribe do their things,” said the res manager and event organiser, Miss Sonto.
The events aim was for students to try different kind of
things and experience how other people outside their tribe prepare their
traditional food, traditional dance and how they wear their traditional outfits
on special occasions.
